The Beast from the East can't stop these Otters

The crazy weather felt by the UK unfortunately interfered with many swimmers' plans to head to South Coast of Wales for the annual Welsh Masters Championships on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd March, 2018. This meet is great long-course preparation ahead of the British National Championships in June, and always proves popular with swimmers from around the UK. However, just four Otters (David Adamson, Dontony Gill-Nasadi, Fraser Peh & Simon Williams) managed to catch their trains and make their way over to the 50m national pool in Swansea to shine.

South East Region Long Course Results

The Swim England South East Region Long Course Masters event was held at Crawley over the weekend of 20-21 January. This regular event gives swimmers an opportunity to race in a 50m pool in January and set records in a new age group.

Seven Otter swimmers raced and each brought home medals with a total of 12 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals being won between them. Additionally 5 new club records were set.

QMSC returns!

We're delighted to report that that works at the Queen Mother Sports Centre in Victoria have been completed, and we're back to training with all 6-lanes.

Session times on Thursdays and Sundays will return to the normal schedule with all swimmers welcome to attend;

Thursday: 19.30-21.00

Sunday: 17.30-19.00

2017 Club Championships Review

The 2017 Club Championship events include the Mile open water in July and nine pool events which were held over three Thursdays in November at the QMSC pool. In total 33 men and 16 women competed in these events.

The team return to La Santa

This was the 7th year we have been to Club La Santa as an Otter Team, and now as veterans of the training holiday we have come to appreciate all the facilities the complex has to offer and tailor our individual training accordingly. Alongside two training sessions a day the Otters enhanced their training regime with Spinning, TRX and the infamous "Ultimate Abs" classes (who said training was boring?)

Otters show off at GLLAM

This year, fellow London-based masters swim team Out To Swim hosted their annual GLLAM meet (Gay & Lesbian London Aquatics Meet) at the fabulous London Aquatics Centre on Saturday, 9th September 2017. Over 300 swimmers across 58 clubs from 15 countries entered, and whilst many Otters were heading out to Club La Santa, Lanzarote, to begin a week-long training camp, 10 swimmers competed at this feel-good meet!
