1st Thursday Otter Socials

It is time to resurrect our monthly social drinks. Tonight after training please feel free to join your fellow Otters for a drink or two at Willow Walk (a truly classy Wetherspoon’s establishment opposite Victoria station).

Don’t worry if you cannot make it tonight – just mark your diary for the first Thursday of every month so you can join the fun next time.

Quarter Mile next weekend!

Hope you can join us for our final open water event of the season, the 1/4 Mile swim on Saturday 13th August, at Parliament Hill Lido, Gospel Oak, NW5 1NA.

This handicap event is open to all members and is a fun and social evening that involves a little swim and, for those interested, a tame game of water polo. This is a great way to try an Otter open water event and get to know other Otters.

Otter Club Championships tonight

The Otter Club Championship 50m Freestyle, 50m Fly & 100m Backstroke are on tonight, during training at QMSC.

The Otter Club Championships consist of a series of races, where first-past-the-post, points are awarded on a per-swim basis with an overall winner decided from total points at the end of the year.

Michelle will be on pool deck at the start of training asking if you'd like to race, so why not say yes and give it a go. Even if you haven't raced before or don't usually swim those events. It is good fun. Who knows. You might surprise yourself.

Otter ladies win the London League

The Otter ladies social team won Division 1 of the London League last weekend. The league is a great opportunity for players to get more game experience, particularly playing with different members of the Otter squad. It is also an opportunity for girls who play for Otter in the BWPL to play with their original home clubs. This years Otter team was made up of young players who represent Otter at NAGs, Lutra players & Otter players. The team was undefeated over the course of the season beating West London Penguin 14-0, 7-4 & 11-2, Mid Sussex Marlins 5-2, 6-2 & 8-2 and Basingstoke Bluefins 13-4, 8-1 & 10-4. Thank you to everyone who played, helped out on the table and refereed, and to Chris Martin for organising the competition once again.
