Coronavirus - All Sessions Cancelled

Please see messages below from the President and Treasurer regarding cancellation of all sessions due to Coronavirus.

Dear Otters,

Following Government announcements on Monday concerning Corona Virus (Covid–19) and now yesterday evenings announcement from Swim England that they are “strongly advising clubs to consider cancelling or postponing activity – including events – until the end of May” (https://www.swimming.org/swimengland/coronavirus-statement/) the Otter Committee has decided that for the time being all Otter training sessions should be CANCELLED with immediate effect.

We will continue to monitor the situation, liaise with pool owners/operators and our various governing bodies to ensure that we can resume all training sessions as soon as sensibly possible, and we will keep you all informed of any progress.

In the meantime, we ask all Otters to look after yourselves and make sure you follow Government and NHS advice on how to avoid catching or spreading Corona Virus.

Dear all,

Firstly, I hope you, your families and friends are keeping well at this time.

Following on from Paul's email yesterday about training stopping, I wanted to communicate to you all about fees.

The Club will not charge membership fees while its activities are on hold. Therefore:

  • Those of you on monthly subscriptions paying via standing order, I would ask you to contact your bank to pause your standing orders to the club until training and other activities resume. Once they do, I will communicate separately about the resumption of fees.

  • Those of you that have paid either quarterly or annually in advance, the club will refund you the appropriate amount for the time that Club activities are off. I would ask that you send me your bank details for me to make that happen. Please note that it may not be an immediate transfer since I will have a few to work through! My preference is to make lump-sum payments once we know how long the "outage" was for so as to only pay once, but please let me know in your emails if this will be a problem for you.

  • Those of you paying by direct debit via Club Organiser, please leave the direct debit in place and send me your bank details so that I can process a refund to you direct. It is logistically easier that way.
