Otter finish in style

The sixth season of BWPL's Super 5s reached a thrilling conclusion at Gloucester's GL1 pool this weekend, with three teams - Manchester, Otter and Liverpool Lizards - very much in contention for the women's title. With 2 games remaining Manchester held a narrow 1 point lead over Otter and Liverpool.

Otter went into the final round of the British Waterpolo League Super 5's competition with the title in their sites. The team needed to beat Manchester and Leeds and the title would be theirs. But it wasn't to be. The team struggled to get any traction in a disappointing game against Manchester. Going down 14-5 and ending their hopes for a second Super 5s title while setting up a winner-takes-all meeting between Manchester and Liverpool on the Sunday.

Out of the title race but never a team to be taken lightly, Otter rounded off their British League season on Sunday with a run away 16-9 victory over Leeds Sharks. After an even start, the London club took charge, scoring six in the second period. Celebrating the end of the season and Peggy Etiebet's birthday in style.
