Last night in Watford the Otter men's 1st team played the deciding match of the 2016 London Water Polo League Division 1 championship against a strong Watford 2nd team. The match was close throughout with neither side ever more than a single goal ahead. The game was all square at 7 each going into the final quarter. Watford scored early, however controlled water polo from Otter saw them pull back and then go ahead 9 - 8 with just 58 seconds to go. Otter then dominated the final minute for a fantastic win.
As winners of the London Water Polo League Division 1 title Otter 1 have gained promotion on undisputed merit back into the Premier Division after a 2 year absence. LWPL rules preventing more than one team from an individual club playing in any single division meant that Otter had already secured promotion ahead of the game.
On 22nd September the Otter men's second team secured the 2016 London Water Polo League Division 3 title with an impressive 17 - 14 victory over the Eastern Otter 1st team. Otter 2 finished the LWPL season with a fantastic 100% win record.
